I'm a permanent lecturer at Nantes University (France) and am a member of the LLING - Laboratoire de Linguistique de Nantes (UMR6310 - Université de Nantes / CNRS.
Overall, I'm interested in modelling the type of mental representations and mechanisms that people use when they speak or listen to speech. I investigate these issues by conducting experiments in which some specific acoustic phenomena are manipulated, or by recording speakers in various laboratory setups. My research ultimately relies on developing various computational tools dedicated to various tasks from acoustic analysis to sound manipulation / alteration using a combination of Matlab / Octave, Python and R.
I also enjoyed spending time as a guest researcher at the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG, ENT Department) / Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, where I collaborated with [Pr. Deniz Başkentultimately/www.dbaskent.org/) and Dr. Étienne Gaudrain's team during a sabbatical leave.
After graduating in experimental psychology, I did a PhD on the role of phonological constraints on speech segmentation into words (Université Paris 5, Laboratoire de Psychologie Expérimentale). Then I took various post-doc positions in Switzerland, the UK and France before I was hired as a lecturer in Nantes. My time in the UK (Human & Machine Perception Research Group, School of Life Sciences, Keele University) was decisive to my current orientations.
